When the mind resists
When the Mind Resists
When the Mind Resists
Thoughts people have:
„Could it be that my mind doesn’t even want me to find peace?“
When the Mind Resists
The mind asks many questions. And the truth is: if we ask ourselves whether our mind might not even want us to come to rest, then we are already caught in the mind. We direct all our energy into our thoughts by wondering why things are the way they are, instead of arriving in the present moment and withdrawing our energy from the questioning mind.
The mind is so clever that we only recognize it once we’ve fully let go and stopped asking questions. But if we ask ourselves whether our thoughts are perhaps preventing us from finding peace, we remain unconscious. We identify with them. We channel all our energy into our questioning mind and don’t even realize it. Instead, we could step into stillness and simply let it be.
Our thoughts search for peace in the outer world. They seek distraction and answers. The realization that we have a mind, but are not the mind, only arises when we stop asking and searching. Only in stillness, in trusting ourselves and our life, do we find real answers. And only the mind is capable of turning something so simple into something complex.
When the Mind Resists
How to proceed
You will find peace the moment you stop asking how to find it. Realize that it is you who isn’t letting go while simultaneously searching for peace. You ask yourself how to come to rest, but in doing so, you feed your energy into the very question, rather than simply letting go.
Stop giving your mind attention—stop feeding it with energy. Every time you notice yourself getting lost in your thoughts, remind yourself that you have the choice to let go. You don’t need to keep thinking about how to find peace, because peace is always there—it’s the state that emerges when you stop searching and connect with the moment.
Only then will you realize that your full attention has been caught in your thoughts. You have control over where your energy flows. If you stop feeding your thoughts and simply remain in the here and now, you will find the peace within you.
