People’s Thoughts:

“I want to boost my self-worth and find self-love, Sabrina. How do I do that?”

Recognizing our inner worth is rooted in our thoughts. We are the ones who assign value to ourselves, and we have the power to change it. However, before this can happen, we must first become aware of ourselves. Our self-awareness is the key to our self-worth. So, what do these terms mean? Self-worth is an evaluation of how we perceive ourselves—whether positively or negatively, as good or bad. Self-awareness, on the other hand, does not exist solely in the mind. To be self-aware means to observe ourselves without judgment, to recognize what we think, how we feel, and how we act—without condemning or glorifying ourselves.

Respecting and valuing ourselves, realizing that our self-assessments come from within, can bring us peace. Change is a natural process. When we listen to our nature and follow the path meant for us, we come to know ourselves—we become aware. Every experience, every person, and every step we take brings us closer to ourselves. The moment we truly desire something because it aligns with our path, we will find a way. With each step we take, we improve our abilities. And not only can we define our self-worth, but we also become aware of our wholeness.

Personal Experience

My life is shaped by experiences. My inner journey has led me through many painful phases, allowing me to perceive my true self. With each step, I have recognized my thoughts and the meaning behind every experience. We are not only here to live life to its fullest. We are also here to learn, to grow, and to understand ourselves. Pain and suffering are guides on the path to self-awareness. Experiencing inner peace in the present moment lies in accepting that pain is a part of life.

Approach

Experiences, discoveries, and the people around you are a reflection of your self-awareness. If you feel triggered, you have the opportunity to learn how to perceive your inner world. Through this awareness, you can begin to understand your thoughts and learn to direct them in a way that serves you. You become conscious of yourself.

Life is whole and complete, and you are a part of this wholeness. Every aspect of your life is a part of you. Without one, the other cannot exist. Whether you assign yourself a certain value and judge your being is entirely in your hands. But perhaps you don’t have to do that at all.

Use the following questions to get to know yourself better:

  • Do I have to force myself to assign a value—whether good or bad, thin or thick?
  • Can I simply be aware of my thoughts, feelings, and actions without labeling them?
    • Without making a judgment?
  • What step can I take today to understand myself better?
  • How can I learn to perceive myself and recognize my self-worth?
  • Am I searching in my external world, or have I already started looking within?
  • What have I always wanted to do—explore, experience?
  • Which people trigger me, and what does that say about me?
