Thoughts of People:
“My thoughts constantly try to latch onto me. I begin to find my way into the here and now through my awareness, using breathing exercises.”
It is important to understand that as humans, we have thoughts, and we should not push them away. Every thought has something to tell us and influences our body. Life consists of causes and effects. Our body is sensitive and serves as a storage for our thoughts. We can perceive it and find our way into the present moment as soon as we allow our thoughts to settle. Inner topics that surface in moments of stillness can be released once we acknowledge them. Techniques can help us examine these thoughts more closely and bring deeply buried experiences to the surface.
Personal Experience
Time and again, I encounter people who are destroyed by their own thoughts. They are unaware that everything is interconnected and that their thoughts have an impact. For a long time, my mind drove me insane because I was running away from myself. I didn’t want to be honest with myself or face my emotions—I buried them within my body instead. But my system is so intelligent that it calls for an immediate stop—through illness, physical discomfort—whenever I ignore it. The body is a miracle of nature. If we harm ourselves or even others through our thoughts, it always comes back to us. Some people call this karma.
Approach
As soon as we confront ourselves, we will realize that we are constantly bombarded with noise. The result: Our external world affects us so intensely—background noise, people—that we no longer perceive ourselves. Then we start believing that we can find ourselves somewhere else on this planet. We begin searching for ourselves.
There are techniques you can use to regain balance and bring your thoughts into the here and now. Simple breathing exercises, such as taking deep breaths in and out multiple times, as well as slower movements like Yin Yoga or stretching, can help quiet your mind. Likewise, finding a place where peaceful silence prevails can support this process. This way, you can truly experience what it means to be in stillness.
Take a moment to reflect on these questions:
- Why do I often feel drained and experience physical issues?
- Am I being honest with myself and facing my emotions? If not, why?
- What exercise helps me quiet my thoughts?
- What is the next step I can take to stay connected to myself?
- How do I feel when I take a deep breath in and out? What does this do to me?
